New Transimpedance Amplifier

New Transimpedance Amplifier

Coherent's CHR1065 56 Gbaud TIA and the MSPM0L134x MCU with integrated TIA are the latest available samples for high-performance optical and sensing applications.Coherent CHR1065 TIACoherent has introduced the CHR1065 transimpedance amplifier, designed for next-generation 400G and 800G optical transceivers. This TIA features 2 µARMS input-referred noise, providing excellent receiver sensitivity for long optical reach, and high linearity up to 2.5 mA, ensuring reliable performance across varying link budgets. It operates at 227 mW per channel, making it suitable for dense, power-constrained datacenter deployments. The device supports 750 µm optical pitch, advanced I2C monitoring, and seamless integration of four devices, ideal for compact DR, FR, and LR module designs. Engineering samples are available in 25-piece waffle packs, and the TIA is offered as a wire-bondable bare die for volume production .MSPM0L134x MCU with Integrated TIAFor sensing and microcontroller-based applications, the MSPM0L134x MCU integrates a low-leakage transimpedance amplifier. This TIA provides industry-leading input bias current of 6 pA, significantly improving current detection compared to conventional integrated op-amps. The MCU supports high-frequency operation, multiple PWM channels, and a 12-bit ADC with 1.68 MSPS conversion rate, making it suitable for building automation, medical devices, and portable electronics. Its high integration reduces PCB size and BOM costs while enabling precise current sensing in low-power applications .Advanced TIA TopologiesRecent research also highlights dual-feedback modified regulated-cascode (MDFRGC) TIAs with negative resistance-capacitance (NRC) networks, achieving 69 dB transimpedance gain, 1.7 GHz bandwidth, and 6 pA/√Hz input-referred noise. These designs optimize input impedance, reduce noise, and enhance bandwidth, particularly for large photodiode capacitances, while maintaining low power consumption (7.4 mW) and compact area (0.01 mm²), .SummaryFor a new sample TIA, you can consider:Coherent CHR1065: High-speed optical communication, available as engineering samples.MSPM0L134x MCU: Integrated TIA for low-power sensing and microcontroller applications.MDFRGC TIA designs: Advanced research prototypes for high-bandwidth, low-noise applications. These options cover both commercially available samples and cutting-edge research designs, suitable for evaluation in optical, sensing, and integrated electronics systems.
